LONDON MILITARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

A London wedding between two British Army officers, complete with a traditional military guard of honour and a lively Ceilidh reception — this was a day packed with personality, tradition and unforgettable moments.

As a former member of the British Army myself, photographing Naomi and Harry’s wedding felt especially meaningful. Military weddings carry a unique atmosphere, blending proud traditions with genuine emotion, and it was an honour to document every part of their celebration from morning preparations through to the final dance.

A London Military Wedding Full of Tradition

The day began with bridal preparations before the ceremony at Christ Church, Cockfosters. Naomi looked incredible in her gown from The Little Bridal Boutique, while friends and family gathered in anticipation of what would become a truly memorable day.

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds were greeted by a traditional military guard of honour formed by serving officers and personnel from across the British Army and Royal Navy. With representatives from the Royal Engineers, Royal Tank Regiment, Army Air Corps, Light Dragoons and Royal Marines, it was a wonderful reflection of the friendships and careers that had brought Naomi and Harry together.

A Celebration Surrounded by Friends and Family

After the ceremony, guests travelled to Oak Hill College, where an elegant wedding breakfast was served inside beautifully styled tipis. The relaxed atmosphere gave everyone time to celebrate, reconnect and enjoy the occasion together.

As the evening unfolded, the celebrations continued with a traditional Ceilidh that had guests of all ages on the dance floor. From spontaneous laughter to energetic dancing and countless candid moments, it was the perfect way to end a wedding filled with joy, warmth and genuine connection.

Why I Love Photographing Military Weddings

Military weddings are always special to photograph. They combine timeless traditions with deeply personal stories and often bring together people from all over the country and beyond.

Having served in the British Army myself, I understand the significance behind many of the traditions and ceremonies that make military weddings unique. It allows me to anticipate important moments while documenting the day naturally and unobtrusively, creating photographs that feel authentic to the couple and their story.
