NOTLEY TYTHE BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

A Beautiful Summer Wedding at Notley Tythe Barn, Buckinghamshire

As a Notley Tythe Barn wedding photographer, it’s easy to see why this stunning venue is one of Buckinghamshire’s most sought-after wedding locations.

Nestled in the countryside near Thame and close to the Oxfordshire border, Notley Tythe Barn combines historic charm with beautifully restored wedding spaces. Dating back to the 12th century, the barn forms part of a working farm estate and offers everything couples need for a relaxed yet elegant wedding day.

For Rosie and Lucas, the day began with a church ceremony at St Mary’s Church, Thame, before they celebrated with family and friends at Notley Tythe Barn. From the moment I arrived, there was a genuine sense of excitement, laughter and anticipation that carried throughout the day.

From Engagement Shoot to Wedding Day

One of the best parts of photographing Rosie and Lucas’s wedding was already knowing them before the big day.

A few months earlier, we’d met for their engagement session during golden hour in the beautiful countryside around Abbots Langley. Engagement shoots are a fantastic opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera, spend some time together away from wedding planning, and create natural photographs in a relaxed environment.

By the time the wedding arrived, everything felt effortless. They already knew how I worked, and I knew exactly what was important to them.

A Day Filled With Laughter, Emotion and Incredible Moments

One thing I always tell couples is that the photographs aren’t just about how the day looked — they’re about how it felt.

Rosie and Lucas’s wedding was packed with genuine moments. From emotional reactions during the ceremony to huge smiles, spontaneous laughter and plenty of celebrations on the dance floor, there was no shortage of memories to capture. The fact they hired Winston Churchills Rolls Royce as a wedding car was just fantastic.

My approach is always to document the day as naturally as possible, stepping in with guidance when needed while allowing events to unfold organically. The result is a gallery that feels authentic, timeless and true to the atmosphere of the day.

Notley Tythe Barn provides the perfect backdrop for this style of photography, with beautiful grounds, characterful architecture and plenty of opportunities for relaxed portraits without taking couples away from their guests for long periods.
